Much ado About Titanic 2

Well, when I speak of Titanic 2, I am not referring to the second part of the Titanic movie. That ship story is already done and over with. There is no freaking way for a movie like that to get a second part. No, no. I just heard that some Asians where going to make a perfect replica of the Titanic ship. All the modern folks would be able to enjoy the luxuries of the ancient Titanic. The first voyage will take you on the same trip as the original Titanic. I just hope the trip does no end in the same place as the original Titanic. Hehehehe....  Ok,since steam engines are no longer in Vogue, the new Titanic will have a modern Deisel Fuel engine. Inside the cabin, it will have modern navigation equipment (meaning that it will be able to give the turns necessary to avoid icebergs).

I noticed that the new renovations did not include having enough lifeboats for all passengers (if they did add enough boats, they failed to mention it) . I just hope that history does not repeat itself. If I were they, I would not set the ship out on the same date as the previous ill fated Titanic. Still, I do applaud the idea. However, I hope that the difference in accommodations between first class and third is not so great. Well, they did say that they where being true to the original schematics of the Titanic ship (meaning third class passengers will not enjoy any accommodations whatsoever) . In any case, the idea is 5 star worthy (if the ship makes it home... Although, I feel that they are pushing their luck with this Titanic 2 project). Eh, whatever,hehehe...

Review of Six Legends by Gustavo Alfonso Becquer

The Kiss or El Beso

El Beso or The Kiss by Gustavo Alfonso Becquer

Aside from being a poet, Becquer wrote a few legends. The one that I will review today is known as "El Beso" or "The Kiss". The story focuses on a young knight who falls in love with a statue. The statue of this maiden he discovers while stationed inside an empty gothic Cathedral. This statue was in a private mortuary chapel of an unknown knight. His wife was buried with him. One day, the knight  got a bit too drunk. He used to observe the praying maiden statue from far away. This time he got brave and went to see her up close. As he got close, he noticed that the maiden had male knight statue looming over her.

The Rite Movie Review

Yesterday, I watched a scary movie about demon exorcisms. The whole theme of the movie is that not even the Vatican is safe from Demonic influence. The movie does not have any serious gory themes. Although, you can cut tension with a butter knife. The story begins with the preparation of a dead body for a funeral. Our main character, Micheal Kovak decides to enter a priest collage to run away from his father's busyness. The day he was going to quit school, a girl gets run over and he performs the last rites. His mentor seeing the way he handled it sends him to a special course at the Vatican.

John William Waterhouse of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood Part 5: Miscellaneous

Well, this one is just to stuff the seven that I forgot to rate. Ok, the first one is a study for the rosebuds painting. You can see the idea starting to take shape. We have yet to see the stained glass window. Originally, the maiden was going to have the flowers like a bouquet. I guess the basin worked better. In any case, this painting of Waterhouse deserves 5 star rating.

John William Waterhouse of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood Part 4: Greek II

naiad,painting,waterhouse
A Mythological Painting by John William Waterhouse

This one is called "A Naiad" (1905). A Naiad is a fresh water river nymph. Their rivers are said to have prophetic powers. So here, a Naiad is looking upon a forest dweller. These forest dwellers became more common as the wealth of Athens increased. They despised the corruption in the city. Thus, they went to live in the forest as a shepherd or a bard. This one with a leopard skin is sleeping near the Naiad river. He might have a prophecy real soon. The scenery is basically a forest and a lake. In any case, this painting deserves 5 star rating.

 Waterhouse circe painting

John William Waterhouse of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood Part 4: Greek

This is the Last post on John William Waterhouse. This one will focus on Greek myths and women.  Its a real bummer that a Romanticism artist made lots of Greek artworks. This subject is common for the enemies of the Pre-Raphaelite movement. Still, Waterhouse took this classical subject matter with a Romanticism twist. You know, most of Waterhouse subject matter is depiction of women. Unlike his contemporaries, he is not judgmental about women. He shows different faces of them without succumbing to petty moralism. Now that this lil analysis is over, lets just get the show on the road.

The next pretty maiden is Juliet. Well, we already know a lot about her. Waterhouse has depicted the fragility of this 16 year old rather well. She is fiddling with her blue bead necklace. Her red dress (of passion) works pretty well. The pink overlay for gentleness is also a nice addition. I think she is inside the Capulet mansion. In any case, this painting deserves 5 star rating.

John William Waterhouse of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood Part 3: Medieval

Like other great romanticism artist, Waterhouse had an interest in medieval legends. That time of spirituality, saints and the bizarre fascinated those skeptic romanticist. They where tired of empty logic devoid of meaning. They sought to escape the new materialism. Thus, the looked into the past to find inspiration. Ok, the first painting features Saint Cecilia (1895). She was a blind saint popular during medieval times. She is know as the patron saint of Music. She was only a young teenage girl when the Romans had her killed (along with her husband). As they prepared to chop her head off, she sang to her lord. Before she was taken away, she took care to leave her her home church in order (in the early days churches where held in the houses of wealthy worshipers. She used to host Christian worship in her house, when the Romans sought to slay her). It seems that the Romans failed trice to cut her head off...she died in her house after receiving the sacrament....

Toy Story Disney Movie Review

Toy Story Disney Movie Review

I recently got bored of rating artwork, books, regular movie, ect. Thus, I decided to rate some of the Disney movies of my childhood past. The first movie that I am going to rate is Toy Story. Looking back, I realized that the theme of this story was really something quite original. I am not talking about toys being alive and needing their human owners. No, no, the Nutcracker bit its teeth into that theme years ago (before it became fashionable to make toy alive). I am talking about the existential crisis of Buzz Lightyear. Think about, Toy Story chronicles Buzz acceptance that his identity is a lie.

A Rosebud, Serpent, Corruption of Youth, and Avenge me, Furies by Teresita Blanco

A Rosebud
by Teresita Blanco

As I gaze
at the fair flower
you have become,
I think back…

To the time
when you were
a bund.

Our past childhood…

The one that was left undone
by cruel separation.

How cruel is fate!
Monstrous demise!

 As I gaze
at the rose
that was a bund,
I see my heart become
hard.

Cruel monstrous fate!
Are you satisfied,
why?

The things we chose
to give up
reflect in the fragrance
…that lingers still in our hearts…
The love we share
my friend,
we shared
no more…

Fair rose…
I wish thee no fall;
no winter’s snow at all.
Live on,
with spring heat.
I hope
your heart
never withers…
under cruel  envious eyes.

Is it Better to be Shocked or Beaten?

Is it Better to be Shocked or Beaten?

The purpose of this blog is to weight the pros and cons of the current popular subjugation protocol practiced by most Law Enforcement officers. Should you refuse to be arrested, you can expect two likely outcomes (should the cop fail in restraining or shooting you with a bullet): You are either beaten to near death by their... (whats the word) quacking stick (I know in spanish is called Macana) or taser to a near comatose state. Both scenarios are most unfortunate. Alas, this blog will weight the pros and the cons of either unfortunate scenarios. Thus, finally figuring out if it is better to be shocked or beaten.

Nazo no Kanojo X Anime Review

Ok, this is going to sound weird. However, this anime show is the creme de la creme of the new season of anime. Trust me, this anime is so tasty your gonna drool when you see it. Ok, basically, this anime show is about a strange school romance. There is a new girl named Urabe. The main character had been having a lot of wet dreams before meeting the girl. He kept dreaming of flowers overflowing with honey. That metaphor is really hot. You have to be an idiot, not to get the dream of the flowers and the honey. In any case, Urabe used to fall asleep during the break time.

War's Perfume
by Teresita Blanco

Stare into the scarlet hue!
Glare into the dark abyss!
Swear fealty to our hymn…

As we tremble in fear
he laughs with his belly of fume.
As we, with fear, shiver
he slaps our ego.

Can we regain
the sanctity of pain?
How can we stop
this horrid humiliation!?

He comes to kill,
our love, our will.

Swear into the scarlet hue!
Glare into the dark abyss!
Share all our woes within our hymn…

As we run with fear,
he races to spread
War’s Perfume.

As it permeates
we quiver and shake
as he kills our hero.

And so he rise…
to liberate all!
(Bah!)
And so we realize
there is no getting rid
of his malice.

Oh! The world grows so cold…

Threatening Day
by Teresita Blanco

Tears rain from the sky,
my fist tremble with rage.
As rosy turns pale
I witness my own gale.

Scarlet mirror
reflects my inner demon;
the one that released this omen
warning of impending horror.

As the heart turns gray
the truth becomes lame,
the facts can never withhold
the fury of a threatening day.

As We grown older and I dare not wonder by Teresita Blanco

 poem teresita blanco

As We grown older
by Teresita Blanco

Time slowly drifts away
and we soon realize
that we grown older.

Our backs are bent,
our hearts are broken.

What did we struggle for?
Youthful tomorrow
becomes yesterday’s sorrow.

As we grow older,
we see the child walk forth
and cry out in hunger.
Who will console the child!?

Useless pretences
that excuse our webs of vengeance.
The confusion we created
in order to never admit
the fact that our youth
has grown farther.

As we grow older
we see the tender neck,
the softness of the breath,
but our hearts only grow colder.

Who will console our sorrow?
 Yesterday’s horror
now haunts our mind
with bitter morrow.

Time drifts slowly
with rapid furnace;
obliviously we wonder
whose wrinkled
hands stand before us,
the grimace
in the mirror.

As we grow older
our past delusions
becomes our resolution.
Who will console the child?
Who will appease our sorrow?

All those days
awakens tomorrow.
we cry out in horror
no more !

I dare not wonder
by Teresita Blanco

I dare not wonder
foolish things;
for I fear
they are nothing but sins.

I pray to grow stronger;
not to die in shame
….or at least
stay unaware
of this wound,
bleeding the crimson sorrow
from my chest.

Who was the last
to stab me ?

I dare not wonder…

I pray for the sorrow
to make me stronger
…or at least
to grow so numb
 so that I may
overlook
that silver-crimson handle.

I dare not wonder
such foolish things;
for I fear
to find out who
it was who stabbed
Me last.

The pain… the woe
Bleeds forth
filling this crimson fountain.

Let my enemies
Drink forth the fountain
my life, my hymn.

I dare not wonder
For they are nothing
but sins I fear.

Such Foolish things!

My anger has been awaken
by Teresita Blanco

My anger has been awaken
by the sound of mockery.
I despise the” most” in them.

Who gives them the right
to shield my light
with their feeble might.

My anger has been awaken …

Why bother to dispute,
Why bother to refute,
these beings of woes;
who deserve not
the title of foes.

My anger has been awaken,
By the piercing sound
That rises to drown
All the happiness lives in me.

They fallen ill
to the strands passion.
Oh, they have fallen
into the human spell .

My anger has been awaken
by the chant of this spell;
As I try to dispel
I find myself in hell.

Calling forth the “zero” in us
With their hysteric fuss;
These fools dare to mock
the darkness ahead,
With demoniac laughter,
full of glut,
full of hope.

My anger has been awaken…

The Discarded Woes

by Teresita Blanco

My escape, foiled
This mistake,
Has me ruined.

The discarded side,
Burns these decaying woes,
Festering the phantoms
Of my old foes

Insanity conquered
those who pledged
never to drink such poison,

From this malady
Bows my shaken agony.

Let me out!
Let us out!
why still fly
without might?

Skyless Moon by Teresita Blanco

 skyless moon poems

Skyless Moon
by Teresita Blanco

Skyless moon,
In the night
She reflects our might.

See her take flight
Across the sky,
The hollow torches
Reflects her pale glances.

She smiles at our surrender…
we struggle far behind,
the shame we hide
Brings the danger
We dare not whispers,
Look, she hears us whimper.

Our strength depleted,
The lamps retreated.

The Red Moon
Screams our doom.
The tides turn,
The Hands tremble,
The final grain falls…

“Rise, rise,” the moon calls…
Flee, flee his “ah”
Retain the last breath,
Regain once more strength.

See what lies beyond.
This is our destination!
Escape this hell,
Return to hell.

Such is our doom.
Sky less moon!

Tune, Oblivion and Victory's Defeat Poems

 poems tune teresita

Tune
by Teresita Blanco
This is but a tune if silent words,
That once was spoken
Across the worlds
Of both the rich and broken.

We all come together to celebrate
The same fate;
This fate that all share:
The inability to be spared.

What if some die at ease,
While others Pain
Revealed her magnificence,
Hoping for ends deliverance…

For now we sing her song,
To the end that’s nonexistent;
Oh, we are too persistent.

At ease men!
Now count to ten!

 poems oblivion teresita

Oblivion
by Teresita Blanco
The man walks around
The earth, unaware
Of what’s to come.

Mankind is like a hound,
Hungry, as it prays warfare
Just to obtain its ware.

Its soul sings loud,
Reaching for the final hour
That it has longed for.

After years of toil,
The body coils

Becoming one with Oblivion…

Victory's Defeat
by Teresita Blanco

Even after all is set and done
I rest face down on the ground;
victory’s defeat
is all that was given to me.

From this sworn vow
I was cast aside …
so that I could be made to die.
My strength depleted,
the last grain has fallen.

Exhaustion kicks down my thigh,
as the struggle was unfold.
From these ashes
I cannot rise from.
Hope sinks in death shadows.
My fate was foretold,
as it unfolds,
I dare not hide
the fear that strikes inside.

Eureka Seven AO New Anime Show Review

This anime show is the second part of Eureka Seven. It takes place in the real earth. Ever since, Eureka took care of the Coralians the humans where able to settle back into the real earth. The main character is Ao Fukai. He seems to be the son of Eureka. He looks like a perfect mixture of Eureka and Renton. He has Eureka's face and eyes. However, he has his father's hair and demeanor. Still, he looks quite delicate. In any case, he is a foreigner living in Okinawa. His mother kinda disappeared and he was living with his "grandpa" who was a doctor. The beginning is kinda weird.

Tsuritama New Anime Review

Today, I watched a new anime show called Tsuritama. The show started with the story of a five headed dragon terrorizing Japan. He brought large masses of smoke over the land. One day, a maiden came from the sky and she dissipated the darkness by smiling. It sounds cool, however, the story seemed like one of lil kids stories. In any case, this random beginning got me interested in the anime show. So yeah, in the first scene, a young boy was in the aquarium. A lil girl notices the strange triangle halo over his head. With his finger he was directing the movements of the fishes. He later goes to walk about and he meets some old people doing some weird martial art exercises. Oh, about his looks. The young man is a bit of a drifter. He travels about with his lil red taking fish.

I Told You
by Teresita Blanco
I told you
Never live a lie,
I warned you
Yet you set aside
Words that never lie.
I sought you,
Hoping to behave,
I held you
From your disgrace,
You claimed graced,
As you breathe Mars,
I must be a cast
Of this struggle.
I warned you,
This is the struggle of fate,
As it hurried seeking to take.
The breath of my, of only friend,
The breath of my only end,
The breath of my enemies,
The breath of my nemesis.
I told you to live again,
I told you how to gain,
We fought, we won.

Your because
by Teresita Blanco
I now see I found her lunar scythe
Draining from this soil; Its our core.
This became your bleeding sight
The fury’s beating heart tore;
A new scar to pour
The forgotten horror
“Is this me?” I scream and shout.
I cannot seem to breathe out.
Far beyond this silver hill,
Far beyond this false thrill.
I became a worthless worm;
Erasing my fears from this page.
Hoping for the first days of age,
Such that now my shattered frame
Is tied to your silver tongued flame
Singing and ringing your because.
 poems teresita blanco
Envy
Awkward and shy
Is this life,
Is my nature,
Yet sill I
Must Hide,
Deep inside,
My true nature…
Such am I told
Was due to those
Pitiful woes,
And this poisoned envy.
For it is this lady,
This Envy,
I failed to realize
How she hides
In this lie.
I come to realize,
This putrid malice,
Is shadow of my strive.
My strive to be better.
My strive to be worst.
For now I know better,
Is best to shut my worst,
Hiding my host
Behind these barriers.
Beyond this barricade,
Lies the piercing hammer.
Striking, making the day
Black as night.

In the end I saw them,
As my eyes grew hollow,
Not as the lurking shadow
But, as my shadow of them.

Me Memorandum
by Teresita Blanco
Why? Damn it!
It never changes,
I’ll take matters
Into my hands.
One day
I’ll break free
And use my hands,
And that day
I’ll will take
The life out of my foe.
For they bring me woe.
Its in their nature
To be so cruel,
Unflinching before
The anger of the all.
One day…
I’ll reshape the world
I will bring it
Back to the glory,
Breaking this old story
Once shared with all.
The left hand’s nature,
Never taken for granted
Again!
One day …
I’ll make you
A special lie,
That will make you
See the light,
That way our savior
Won’t have to set things right.
Soon one day…
I’ll realize my flaws
The ones that claw,
The horror of today.
One day
I’ll break free and use my hand,
And that day
Our nature will unfold,
Discarding all forlorn.
Yet, let it never be told
That one day I held,
My eyes bent so low.
By the living
God I pray,
That I may
Bid farewell
To those days.
In that place…
I once escape
To another hell.
As I wonder
Where I might go?
I hear the same song,
Why is it so?
How can I live like this?
I still breathe in wondering why,
Is there a reason to say goodbye?
 poems teresita blanco
Death Inside
Soon ends my foe.
In this battle left untold,
Its victory I yet to behold.
In this war, I once became
Worthless, Merciless…
When it was on;
Effortless, emotionless…
My foe left in disgrace.
Now I have no grace.
So now into the flames,
 “Oh! pitiful Sour,
Spring’s fruit
Now ends my hour.
For some is their life,
For some is this lie,
For some is our life,
For all is their lie.”
Live or die,
The suicide,
Our death inside…

Trinity Moon, Pity’s Woes and Today Beyond Tomorrow

 trinity moon poem

Trinity Moon
by Teresita Blanco

I see people walking around
Needing this disguise,
This is why I hide these eyes.

For they truly are hounds,
Growling and howling,
Under this green moon.

Feeling the sand fall,
Their hourglass drifts on,
As my will begins to fade.

Rest assure, they come
 With bursting flames;
 The foes we sought for
Will be no more, gone.

In the end, this false hope
Discarded the death’s mask,
So, just embrace it
And yield to the ax.

John William Waterhouse of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood Part 2: Rome

Ok, hello chibis. Here is the second blog of Waterhouse. The first blog dealt with subject matters of Waterhouse's time period (more or less). This one will feature scenes from the Roman Empire. The first one is called Dolce far Niente. Its a french name. I am not certain about its English title. In any case, it does not matter much. This is a historical genre scene. Here a Roman lady is resting on her sofa. She is outside the patio looking at some doves. The architecture is quite accurate. I like the checkerboard floor a lot. Its pretty neat the Roman Lady's fan. Back then, having one's hair pulled up was the fashion. To have it down meant you where a maniac (or a crazed female worshiper of Bacchus). All honorable Roman woman citizen wore their hair up.

John William Waterhouse of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood Part 1: Contemporary

John William Waterhouse (1849-1917) was part of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. They were a group of artists that imitated the style of Raphael (one of the 4 legendary Renaissance artist). Their lot are contemporaries with the impressionist artists. Some of Waterhouse paintings have an impressionist feel about them. Like his pals, Waterhouse had romantic aspirations. Romanticism came about as a response to the Industrial Revolution and the Enlightenment. They where skeptic about the improvements of science. They did not share the naive belief that science would end inequality. They sought to fill a spiritual void created by science. Thus, they looked to inspirations at myths, legends and the medieval times.

Jeremiah by Stefan Zweig Play Review

 Jeremiah Rembrandt painting

Jeremiah by Stefan Zweig Play Review

I am not much of a play person. I rather see it on the stage, than on print. Ok, keeping this in mind, a while back I was going through the complete collection of Stefan Zweig. His only know play (translated to Spanish) was Jeremiah. Why would a non Jew like Zweig be interested in Jeremiah? Let me tell you, as you may not know, Zweig lived during the time of Hitler. It sorta happens that he had to exile Germany because Hitler said Stefan Zweig was a Jew. After discovering that he was a Jew, Zweig began to get interested in the religion of his Great, Great, Great (take a deep breath), great Grandmother. As it stands, Judaism is matri-lineal (meaning that one is a Jew down their mother's line). Hitler knew about this technicality, thus a lot of non Jews became Jews.
